Hong Kong Museum of Arts has the excellent location right on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront and is surrouned by many popular spots, like Avenue of Stars, Hong Kong Space Museum, Hong Kong Cultural Center, SOGO TST. It was established in the early 60's and was known as the City Museum and Art Gallery, which was located in the City Hall. In 1975, the Museum was split into the Hong Kong Museum of History and Hong Kong Museum of Art. Currently, the Museum is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and situated at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. This museum plays an important role in preserving the cultural heritage of China.
The museum has a vast wealth of art and history, and is famed by its exhibition collection, which counts over 15,000 art objects. It's one of the best collections of Chinese art in the world. This collection includes:
- Chinese paintings from long time ago as well as modern works
- Various calligraphy works of the best Chinese artists
- Collection of antique Chinese treasures
- Paintings of various Chinese historical artists

The admission fee is HK$10 and free on Wednesdays. Also, visitors are able to buy a weekly pass for HK$30 that gives unlimited access to the major museums of Hong Kong that are managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Read more
