Airport Express is the fastest way to reach the downtown (Kowloon or Hong Kong Island). The journey to Central takes 24 minutes and the express train runs every 12 minutes from 5:50am to 1:15am daily. The Airport Express Line comprises five stations: Asia-World Expo Station, Airport Station, Tsing-Yi Station, Kowloon Station and Hong Kong Station. Passengers can use the following services:
- Free shuttle bus services between Hong Kong or Kowloon stations and major hotels and railway interchanges.
- Free in-town check-in service.
- Free Porter Service at the Airport, Tsing Yi, Kowloon and Hong Kong stations.
- Free return journey if you travel within the same day. This offer is applicable to both Octopus Card and Same Day Return Ticket holders.
- Wi-Fi service is available on trains.

The last train from the airport to the city or from Hong Kong station to the airport is at 12:48am. Single Journey, Same Day Return or Group tickets are valid on the day of issue only. Round Trip tickets are valid for 30 days from date of issue. Travelers can pay their journeys on an express train by Octopus Card or buy a ticket at any Airport Express customer service centre or ticket issuing machines. Group tickets are available at any Airport Express customer service centre (except AsiaWorld-Expo Station). The Octopus Card can be purchased at any Airport Express or MTR customer service centre. In addition, travelers are able to pay their trip at a destination point instead of paying at the airport. It's a useful feature if you prefer not to wait at the airport.
Airport Express Travel Pass
If you've planned to visit Hong Kong for a few days you may buy the Travel Pass. It gives 1 or 2 journeys on the Airport Express and any 3 consecutive days of unlimited travel on the MTR, Light Rail and MTR Bus (except East Rail Line First Class, and travel to/from Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau stations). The Travel Pass with 1 AE journey costs HK$220, 2 journeys - HK$300. Also, the price includes HK$50 refundable deposit.
Free Airport Express Shuttle Bus Service
Airport Express passengers may use this service for traveling between Hong Kong or Kowloon stations and major hotels and key transport interchanges. There are seven routes. Hong Kong Island is served by 2 routes, and other 5 routes serve Kowloon.
H1, H2 and K5 run every 20 minutes from 06:12am to 11:12pm.
K1, K2, K3 and K4 run every 12 minutes from 06:12am to 11:12pm.
Free In-town Check-in Service
Before getting back to the airport after your trip or holiday, you can take advantage of the free in-town check-in service at Hong Kong or Kowloon station. This service is available for many airlines. Passengers can check-in their luggage and get a boarding pass in advance, from one full day as the earliest time to 90 minutes as the latest time. It's very convenient if your flight at night or early morning. You may check-in up to 24 hours prior to departure (depending of an airline) and enjoy the remaining time. Check-in counters at the specified stations are open from 5:30am to 12:30am. The Octopus Card fare for the Airport Express journey is deducted when you enter the check-in area.
