This part of Hong Kong is the most popular among shoppers as it has numerous shopping malls, street markets that are the most visited among tourists and the streets are filled with shops. There are three main shopping areas in Kowloon: Tsim Sha Tsui, Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok.

Tsim Sha Tsui


This area has the highest concentration of shops in Hong Kong. Also, it has numerous tourist spots, such as Avenue of Stars, Star Ferry, Kowloon Park, HK Space Museums and others. As a result, Tsim Sha Tsui is very popular among tourists.
Harbour City. Tsim Sha Tsui is home to the biggest shopping complex of Hong Kong, the Harbour City, which is situated on the western side of Tsim Sha Tsui. The complex is divided into four parts Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel, Ocean Terminal, Ocean Centre, the Gateway, and comprises about 700 shops, including 50 restaurants.
The other shopping malls of the area include SOGO Department Store, New World Centre, iSquare.
Canton Road. It starts on the southern side of Kowloon at its junction with the Salisbury Road (Star Ferry, Clock Tower) and goes to the north along the Harbour City and the Kowloon Park till the Jade Market. From the Salisbury Road till Hong Kong China City the street is filled with shops selling fashion clothes & accessories (Chanel, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo, Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo, Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Prada and others), jewelry, watches (Montblanc, Omega, Piaget, Rolex, Tudor) and is designed primarily for wealthy shoppers. The second part of the Canton Road, designed for shoppers, is located in Yau Ma Tei. This part of the street starts from the Jordan Road and goes to the north till the Jade Market. It has a lot of shops selling gems and jewelry. If you are planning to buy gems or jewelry in Hong Kong, then this place is worth a visit. The selection of gems includes amethyst, coral, jade, onyx, pearl, moonstones and others.
Nathan Road is one of the busiest commercial roads and the most famous shopping street of Hong Kong. It starts from the Salisbury Road on the south and leads from Tsim Sha Tsui to Mongkok. The street is also known as "the Golden Mile". The Nathan Road is well known among tourists for its string of shops, restaurants and night clubs, decorated with neon lights. The shops on the Nathan Road sell clothing, jewelry, electronic goods, Chinese goods, shoes, handbags, luggage, watches.

Yau Ma Tei


The next shopping area of Kowloon is Yau Ma Tei. It is located between Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok. The shops on the streets of Yau Ma Tei offer a wide range of clothes, shoes, Chinese goods and other things. However, the street markets of the area enjoy much greater popularity. One of the most famous outdoor markets is the Temple Street Night Market. It is a perfect place to make a couple of bargains. The market is filled with brightly-lit stalls, offering customers an incredible amount of clothing, pens, watches, CDs, tapes, electronics, toys, Chinese goods, handbags and travel bags. On the shelves with food sell a lot of delicacies, including fresh seafood and stews. Tables and chairs are literally filling the whole street. Temple Street will delay you, and you will remember it for a long time. This is not just a market; it has its own special atmosphere, which makes it especially attractive. The street itself was named in honour of a temple, glorifying god Tin Hau.
Nearby the Temple Street Night Market is situated the Jade Market. Jade Market is a place that will allow you to spend perfectly morning hours, having plunged into trade atmosphere. This market - Mecca for collectors from all over the world. According to Chinese belief, jade scares off evil spirits and protect travelers. The shop owners expose on sale everything - from rare and expensive carved hand-made items to small cheap trinkets. The market is located at the junction of Kansu Street and Battery Street, is open daily from 10am to 5pm. The best time to visit the market is morning. It is not recommended to buy expensive items of jade without the expert.

Mong Kok

Mongkok is well-known for its bustle and "thematic" street markets. If you want to buy the latest audio-video equipments or electronic goods, go to the Sai Yeung Choi Street South. Also, there are many cosmetics shops on that street. There is Ladies Market on Tung Choi Street, parallelly to Sai Yeung Choi Street, which is very popular among tourists. Here shoppers can buy inexpensive women clothing, such as jeans, dresses, handbags, t-shirts, blouses, and various accessories. It is also a place where you can buy the clothes for men and children, and toys. Next to Tung Choi Street to the East is Fa Yuen Street, which is also known as "street of sports goods". Here you can find the most fashionable sports goods and the newest equipment. Among other street markets, you can also visit Golf Fish Market, and Flower Market and Bird Market on Yuen Po Street.
Some of the popular shopping malls are situated in Mongkok and the most famous is the Langham Place. This is a 56.000 square meters of retail space, equipped with air conditioning, where shoppers can find almost everything.
