Ferry Services between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island
Star Ferry
The Star Ferry is not only a cost effective mode of transportation, but also it is a world-famous sightseeing trip between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. There are two routes: Tsim Sha Tsui ‹‹ ›› Central and Tsim Sha Tsui ‹‹ ›› Wan Chai. These services across Victoria Harbour run daily from early morning till 11-11:30pm with a frequency every 6-20 minutes. The journey takes about 8-10 minutes.

Ferry Services to the Outlying Islands
Ferries to the Outlying Islands depart from the Central Ferry Piers. You can easily get there by Star Ferry, MTR or taxi. If you are in the southern part of Tsim Sha Tsui, take the Star Ferry and you will arrive at the Central Ferry Pier #7. In order to get there by MTR, take the MTR and get to the Central MTR station. Get out of the station through Exit A, make a U-turn and walk over the footbridge along Man Yiu street.
Pier 2 to Ma Wan (Park Island);
Pier 3 to Discovery Bay (Lantau Island);
Pier 4 to Yung Shue Wan & Sok Kwu Wan (Lamma Island);
Pier 5 to Cheung Chau Island;
Pier 6 to Mui Wo (Lantau Island) & Peng Chau Island;
Pier 7 to Tsim Sha Tsui.
Some ferry routes offer fast ferries or slower ones that provide a better look at sights near the harbour areas.
Central ‹‹ ›› Lamma Island
Located south-west of Hong Kong Island, Lamma Island is a nice way to spend a half a day. In order to get to the island, simply take a ferry at the Central Ferry Pier #4 in Central. Lamma Island is served by two main ferry terminals, Yung Shue Wan and Sok Kwu Wan. Ferries between Central and Yung Shue Wan run every 20-30 minutes in the morning and evening, and every 45-60 minutes during the daytime. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Ferries between Central and Sok Kwu Wan run every 75-120 minutes, and the journey takes 30-40 minutes.

Mui Wo is a rural place on the eastern side of Lantau Island. It is famous for its beach, named Siver Mine Bay Beach, which is within 15 minutes on foot from the Mui Wo Ferry Pier. The beach is a popular place among residents during the summer months. Ferries to Mui Wo depart from the Central Ferry Pier #6. The journey on an ordinary ferry takes about an hour. The journey on a fast ferry takes about 40 minutes. Ferries run daily with a frequency every 30-50 minutes.
